SAN LOTANO OVAL MADURO GORDO (6" x 60), Rated '92'

 

     By AJ Fernandez.  Like the Oval Connecticut Toro I smoked the Maduro is a very good, smooth high medium darkie. 

                      EL GALAN RESERVA ESPECIAL AQUESTAS (5.75" x 54), Rated '88'

     Lots of flavor.  A little rough around the edges directly out of the cello.  Meaty Habano cigar.  Needs some naked cedar aging to improve I think.  Still decent.  

MAN O' WAR RUINATION 10th ANNIVERSARY BOX-PRESSED GORDO (6" x 60) 

Rated '95'! 

     Like the regular Ruination line one excellent full bodied, full flavored dark Habano smoke by AJ Fernandez.  Scored a sweet Box of 10 for $33 last month.  AMAZING!

     Burned the ROCKY PATEL VINTAGE 1999 CONNECTICUT TORPEDO (6.25" x 52), Rated '93'!

Very good smooth mild smoke.

 

LA GRAN LLAVE MADURO BOX-PRESSED DOUBLE CORONA by AJ Fernandez (7.5" x 54) 

Rated '92'!  

     I know I did a recent review on the 5.5" x 60 Quapo size.  Scored a Pack of 5 of the huge Double Coronas last month for $14.50 and had to make note of this fine blend again.  Burn and draw were perfect.  Nice smooth high medium flavor just a few weeks out of the cello.  Going to add these to my go-to Maduros.   Beautiful cigar and a great smoke! 

GRAYCLIFF ORIGNAL RED SERIES PGX (6" x 50), Rated '89'. 

     Been aging naked since July, 2017.  That's 3 years and 3 months.  Even after that long a nap it still doesn't rise to more than an average tasting cigar.  The few Indonesian or Ecuador Natural wrapped cigars I have smoked all tasted about the same.  The ridiculous M.S.R.P. of $18.75 per cigar results mainly from carrying the Graycliff five star rad label.  At present I believe they are discontinued.  The only Graycliff blends I have burned that are still being sold that are very good solid smokes are the 10 Year Vintage Maduro, Rated '93' and the 30 Year Vintage Cameroon, Rated '94'.

Rated '91'

Top shelf quality.  Effortless draw.  Perfect burn.  Flavor only reaches a smooth medium.  Good smoke but not great.  Won a Box of 20 for $52.00 at CigarBid.  Great buy at that price.  Still sells online for $283.50 in some places! 😆
